Description

Our MTX 19 +5 Glock 19 mag extension has been years in the making. We took everything we have learned from designing magazine extensions and applied it here to deliver our best Glock 19 extension to date. Compared to our previous designs, we have fully dialed in magwell compatibility and USPSA Limited class gauge compliance.

Like our other extensions, the MTX 19 +5 features two key technologies.

Leading Edge

Our two-piece housing design allows us to incorporate a patented leading edge on the inner housing that extends into the magazine tube. This eliminates the catch point at the transition between the extension and the magazine body, ensuring flawless feeding. No other magazine extension on the market offers this design.

Why it matters

We do not believe in adding rounds at the expense of reliability. Glock, Ruger, and other major pistol manufacturers have never produced extensions beyond +2 capacity. The reason is simple… When more than two rounds are added to a double-stack magazine, the follower can exit the magazine body and catch on the way back up.

Many competitive Glock 19 magazine extension manufacturers quietly recommend grinding or shortening the factory follower to address this issue. We refuse to require any modification to factory parts. Altering the follower introduces the risk of follower tilt, which can cause feeding issues and last-round hold-open failures. We have fully solved this problem with no factory modifications required.

5 Points of Engagement

Most magazine extensions for Glock 19 rely on only two points of engagement, typically the baseplate rails plus a set screw, thin stamped retainer, or spring pin. Our design uses five:

1. Tabs on the magazine body, just like an OEM baseplate
2. The spring and spring button, again like an OEM baseplate
3. Interlocking keying features between the inner and outer housing
4. The patented leading edge on the inner housing
5. Baseplate rails engaged by the outer housing

Why it matters

No one wants a magazine extension that comes apart. The MTX 19 +5 passes over a dozen fully loaded five-foot drop tests onto concrete. We intentionally overbuild our products so you can focus on protecting your loved ones or winning your next competition with confidence.
