Concealed carry involves many factors, but one overarching consideration is size. As all the major handgun manufacturers threw their hats into the ring to produce the best all-around carry firearm, Glock and Sig Sauer rose quickly to the top. The Glock 43 vs. Sig P365 Battle for Best Concealed Carry Weapon is ON!

Why Compare the Sig P365 vs. Glock 43?

Sig Sauer bills the P365 as The Pistol Series for Everyday Carry© and the gun’s web page clearly boasts it is “America’s #1 Selling Handgun.” They use words like “revolutionary” and “High-Capacity Micro-Compact” in bragging about their firearm.

The Glock 43 is widely regarded as Glock’s standard concealed-carry weapon. While the Glock 26 is often called the “Baby Glock,” the Glock 43 can be considered the “Infant.” The Glock 43 web page uses words like “legendary,” “ultra-concealable,” and “slimline” to describe their pistol.

You can already see how both brands focus on a few key benefits:

  • Small / Easily Concealed
  • Powerful
  • Reliable

Introducing the Protagonists

Let’s begin by revealing the basic stats for both firearms. You know, how heavy, how long, how much it holds, and how it handles.

Glock 43

The Glock 43 was introduced in 2015 as Glock’s first single-stack 9mm pistol. During this time slimline concealed carry pistols were particularly sought after. Coupled with Glock’s established reputation, it quickly gained a significant following. Notably, Glock does not differentiate the Glock 43 by generations, as it represents a hybrid model, categorized by the manufacturer as a slimline pistol.  In 2019 Glock introduced the 43X which kept the same basic slide design with the addition of a longer grip it has in common with the Glock 48.  For the purposes of this article we are discussing the standard 43, not the 43X.

The Glock 43 is a highly concealable and reasonably accurate pistol, making it an excellent choice for shooters of all hand sizes. It features a grip design that incorporates a beaver tail, allowing for a secure and high grip position for better control. The aggressive texture of the grip surface enhances comfort and ensures reliable handling. Built to the same rigorous standards that characterize the entire Glock lineup, the 43 is subjected to the same demanding torture tests as its larger counterparts, ensuring its durability and performance.

  • Overall Length: 6.26 inches
  • Height: 4.25 inches
  • Width: 1.02 inches

Sig Sauer P365

The P365 High-Capacity Micro-Compact is a notable advancement in the realm of concealed carry pistols, offering a unique combination of capacity, concealability, and overall capability. It has quickly become one of the most sought-after firearms within the industry since its introduction.

Its ergonomic design enhances shootability compared to typical pocket-sized pistols, allowing for a more comfortable shooting experience. Additionally, the P365 is renowned for its clean and crisp trigger pull, a hallmark of Sig Sauer firearms.

To further enhance its functionality, the P365 is available with the ROMEO-X reflex optic already installed and factory-zeroed, positioning it as one of the most capable micro-compact pistols on the market today.

Sig P365 Specifications

  • Overall Length = 5.8 inches
  • Pistol Height = 4.3 inches with flush-fit magazine
  • Grip width = 1.1 inches
  • Weight W/O Magazine= 17.8 oz

Who Wins the Battle?

The specifications battle between Glock 43 vs. Sig P365 is initially subtle, especially to those who may not be well-versed in firearms. The Glock 43 is slightly longer, but the P365 is shorter in height. The unloaded weight difference is a scant 1.61 ounces (the Sig is heavier). The G43’s barrel is less than one-third of an inch longer.

However, these distinctions can have practical implications that can enhance comfort during carry and affect how the firearm feels in your hand.

Glock 43 vs. Sig P365 Magazine Capacity

Magazine capacity means power. More rounds available right away means more firepower to counter threats. The next major battle of Glock 43 vs. Sig P365 is mag capacity. You’ll want to pay close attention to this round.

Glock 43

Glock only offers a six-round magazine standard with the Glock 43, unless you choose the Glock 43X, with a ten-round capacity. The G43’s slimline frame limits users to single-stack mags. Unlike some other Glock models, the slimline G43 IS NOT compatible with other Glock mags.

Several manufacturers also offer replacement mags for the Glock 43, but have the same capacity limits. Of course, extended magazines and magazine extensions offer more round capacity with only a slight increase in mag size and weight. They also enhance your ability to draw, handle, and load the firearm.

For example, XTech Tactical offers our MAG43-9 9-round extended Glock 43 magazine, and our MTX 43 +3 Glock 43 Magazine Extension

Sig P365

The versatile P365 from Sig Sauer is for enthusiasts who believe in capacity! Its modified double-stack frame allows the following size mags:

  • 10-round
  • 12-round
  • 15-round
  • 17-round
  • 21-round

This highly popular micro-compact P365 concealed carry pistol from Sig Sauer is now included on California’s handgun roster and includes a fully legal 10-round magazine. We recommended some upgrades for the P365 California here.

Some other manufacturers offer replacement Sig P365 mags if you have issues with durability or want even more ammunition capacity. XTech offers several Sig Sauer P365 magazines, mags with our signature MTX extensions, MAG-ADAPT mag sleeves, and our patented MTX 365 Free State Adapter that adds three rounds to a ten-round mag.

Who Wins This Battle?

The obvious winner here is the Sig P365, offering more capacity options straight from the factory. If you prefer the G43 for other reasons, you’d better have several extra loaded mags on hand and be an exceptionally quick reloader.

Sig P365 vs. Glock 43 Ergonomics and Control

The Glock 43 features similar grip textures to other Glocks, which are renowned for providing a secure and comfortable hold. The P365 has numerous grip textures and styles, depending on the particular model you choose.

Both handguns’ smaller size can make them feel more manageable for shooters with smaller hands. Their reduced height can contribute to a better fit, allowing for more natural hand positioning during shooting.

Both models share a similar control layout, featuring the slide stop, magazine release, and safety, just with slightly differing placements. The controls are accessible, even during high-stress situations, ensuring that users can operate the firearm effectively. Some P365 models include Sig’s patented accessory rail, a huge boon for attaching accessories.

This writer prefers the slightly more robust factory sights on the Sig P365 to the same Glock sights found on practically every model. However, you may hold the opposite opinion. Nevertheless, aftermarket sights abound for both models.

Trigger pull is always a point of argument among gun enthusiasts. The P365 breaks cleanly at about 90 degrees and is much preferred over the legendary stiff pull of a Glock, including the G43.

Who Wins This Battle?

There is no clear winner here, as both firearms incorporate the best and latest technologies from two of the world’s leading firearms manufacturers. Many aspects of control, feel, and ergonomics are particular to each individual shooter. Your pick is best determined at the range after putting dozens of rounds through each pistol.

Glock 43 vs. Sig P365: Can I Hit Where I Aim?

It all boils down to this: Can I hit where I aim with a Glock 43 or a Sig P365? Arguably, this greatly depends on you, the shooter.

As for whether these handguns are reliably built and function properly, I think we can give them the benefit of the doubt. Glock and Sig Sauer have been building accurate, dependable, and sturdy firearms long enough to build massive reputations. This writer researched other comparison articles and videos in which users compared both guns at the range during actual shooting. Aside from personal preference issues, both performed reliably and shot acceptable groups at 25 yards.

Glock 43 vs. Sig P365: Who Wins?

The Sig P365 generally offers a higher capacity in a slightly smaller and more modern package than the single-stack Glock 43, and features better factory sights and slide serrations. While the Glock 43 is a slimmer single-stack, potentially offering a more comfortable concealed carry for some, the P365’s double-stack design provides more rounds without a significant increase in width, along with greater modularity and a flat trigger option.

The superior choice depends on individual priorities, such as concealability, capacity, comfort, and feature preferences; personal testing is recommended.
